Ten Questions for Brigit Mettra Founder of La Favorite

Luxe-Mag.Com | January/February 2010

1. Your brand “La Favorite” is based on offering a range of luxury lifestyle products for pets. This is quite an uncommon luxury segment and we're curious to know how you got this idea.

I grew up with pets and have been surrounded by pets since my
childhood, they have always been members of the family. Art, design, decoration and elements of a stylish lifestyle have also always been part of my life. This is the main reason why I decided to launch my own company in the pet sector and create a luxury brand that would show that this segment could also have an element of style. I was also sure that I could express my creativity and design flair with a French touch in this area. I decided to make this dream I had come true and La Favorite is the result!

2. Can you describe your products and tell us a bit about the inspiration for their creation? For example the Sofa 0’?

The Sofa 0’, the masterpiece signature of my brand has a real story. I wanted to create an object that would be very special for both pets and their owners, something that would give them the greatest of pleasure. I chose the egg shape of the Sofa O as it means the birth of the world or the rebirth of nature in many civilizations and I think this symbol is powerful. My main reason for choosing the porcelain is that although this material is known everywhere, it has deep roots in the French tradition from Limoges. I love this noble material, its sensuality and resistance through ages.
